Hypophosphorous acid
Hypophosphorous acid 50% solution is typically used in the electroplating industry where it acts as a wetting, emulsifying and dispersing agent. It can also be used as an acidifying compound, chemical reducing agent, anti-oxidant or catalyst in electroless nickel plating. It can also be used in the manufacturing of a variety of products spanning from washing and cleaning chemicals, to fillers and putties, to welding and soldering products. It can act as processing aid as bleaching agent, decolourizing agent or colour stabilizer. Can it be used as a laboratory chemical as well? -Yes!
