Iron sulphate heptahydrate, or ferrous sulfate heptahydrate, can be used in electroplating baths, in fertilizers, and for water treatment. It can also be used as a dye for leather and in writing ink and can be used as the starting-point in the preparation of iron pigments. It can also be used as an etchant.
