Potassium sodium tartrate, or Rochelle salt, is historically known for its piezoelectric properties. Today, however, used for various applications such as electroplating baths and silver plating mirrors. It can also act as a retardant for construction material and in food as a food additive, E337, for production of pectins and jellies.
