Sodium hypophosphite

Sodium hypophosphite monohydrate is mainly used as a reducing agent in electroless nickel and copper plating, where it can act as a more environmentally friendly alternative than conventionally used formaldehyde. It is also used as starting material in the production of other chemicals e.g. Hypophosphorous acid. It acts as a reactive processing aid (chain length modifier, antioxidant, catalyst, colour stabilizer) in the paper, textile and plastics industries.
